## What this site can answer that others cannot

Retailers publish their own prices. Valuation tools are run by shops quoting what
they will pay you. Neither publishes what a specific club actually costs across the
whole market, which is the question a buyer or seller actually has.

## How the prices are worked out

- Every listing seen is recorded, so a product accumulates a price history rather
  than a single snapshot. A new listing is compared against the median of that
  history for its exact product: same brand, model, variant, flex and loft.
- Grades run Hole in One, Albatross, Eagle, Birdie, Par, Bogey. They are distance
  below the observed median, not a discount off a claimed was-price, and the better
  grades require corroboration from more than one seller before they are awarded.
- Prices include delivery where a retailer states it, and are shown as last seen
  rather than as an offer.

## Limits worth stating

- Prices are last seen, not live quotes. Stock and price change constantly.
- Single irons often reach us without an iron number in the title, so a 4-iron and a
  9-iron of one model can share a product page. Sets are unaffected.
- A page with too little evidence to be worth ranking is marked noindex rather than
  padded. The bar: at least 2 different sellers, AND either
  8 sightings with 3 distinct prices in
  30 days, or 8 sightings from
  3 sellers agreeing on a price, or
  5 live listings.
- Links to sellers are affiliate-tagged where a programme exists. Commission plays no
  part in scoring or ranking, and the grade is computed before any link is built.
