A second-hand price on its own tells you nothing about value: £300 is cheap for one driver and dear for another. This ranks on the price a club typically goes for now, measured from every sighting we have recorded, against what it cost new in the UK and how long ago that was. Ranking on the single cheapest listing instead would just put whichever club has one desperate seller at the top, which is a fact about a seller and not about a club.

How to read this
You pay is the typical price now as a share of the UK launch price, so 30% means a club that cost £500 new typically changes hands at £150. Lower is more club per pound.
Value rate is what the list is ordered by, and it is that same fall divided by the club's age: a club that has shed 60% of its launch price in two years scores 30%, and one that took six years to shed the same scores 10%. Both are cheap; only the first is cheap for how recent it is. It is one division of two numbers printed on the same row, so you can check it rather than trust it. Ordering on the fall alone quietly rewarded age, which put an old club above a recent flagship that is the better buy.
What it is is what each club was at launch (the forgiving one, the players' iron, the low-spin head), taken from the same record as its launch price and carrying the same source. It is not a rating and the list is not ordered by it.
We have not tested these clubs and this is not a performance ranking, and no amount of price data could make it one. A ranking that claimed otherwise would be inventing the one thing this site does not measure. What each one was at launch is a matter of record and is stated on its row with a source. Everything in the price columns is measured from listings we track: 13 models have a verified UK launch price, and only those can appear here. Several were researched and left out because no UK launch price could be confirmed, which is a better outcome than a plausible guess in the denominator of every ratio on the page.
